· Analyze data or insights to determine industry and consumer trends
· Devise long-term development strategies for product categories
· Develop exit strategies for unsuccessful products
· Foster trust relationships with vendors to achieve better pricing and quality of services
· Place appropriate orders to ensure product availability that meets consumer demands
· Determine the positioning of a product category to maximize visibility
· Liaise with marketing teams to determine competitive pricing and promotional activities of a product category
· Collaborate with buyers and merchandisers to expand product categories
· Make forecasts for product demand to ensure the sustainability of inventory
· Assume responsibility of budget development and revenue for category
· Works closely with sales team to determine optimal pricing through analysis of sales trends, competitors, buying habits and planograms of products to promote sales opportunities.
· Leads a team that provides category insights and proposals by analyzing marketing and customer data and monitoring relevant market conditions.
· Coordinating the activities of the FRESH buying team
· Developing and maintaining a good working relationship with vendors
· Developing and providing the appropriate product mix for the execution of the organization’s strategy
· Ensuring constant availability of products at the right quantity, quality, and prices
· Work with other departments (Operations, Finance, Marketing, IT) to drive sales growth for the FRESH category
· Drive customer footfalls and sales in the entire store by driving footfalls in the FRESH category section
· Installing processes for FRESH buying team activities
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, or related field
· Minimum 4 years’ experience in product or category management.
